Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about doing business with CITGO.

Can I change a material or service category that I initially selected?
Yes. This is managed through GEP SMART and ISNetworld accounts.
Are any additional registrations required?
Suppliers who provide services that may impact operations in a process-related area (e.g., process unit, tank farm, dock facility, loading racks, etc.) that are potentially hazardous, or that require a safe work permit, must meet CITGO safety and insurance requirements. CITGO uses ISNetworld, a third-party company, to verify insurance and safety requirements for a nominal fee.
Do I need to register if I am a current supplier?
Current Non-Hydrocarbon Suppliers are required to register for participation in future sourcing events and potential contract amendments.
How often do I need to update my information in the registration?
The registration should be updated whenever your business information changes to ensure that the most current information is on file.
I have just submitted my registration, what is the next step?
Suppliers will be able to access status of registration through GEP SMART and ISNetworld, where applicable.
If I have questions or issues, whom do I contact?
Contact GEP SMART or ISNetworld with any questions related to registration and accounts.
If I register, am I guaranteed business with CITGO?
Registration within the GEP SMART qualifies your business for future business opportunities. It does not guarantee that your company or enterprise will be awarded business with CITGO. To be awarded CITGO business, suppliers must meet CITGO standard qualification requirements, including technical, operational and safety standards.
What is the CITGO registration process?
CITGO uses a global enterprise system, GEP SMART, in which suppliers must register for future considerations in the bidding process. Once registered, your company profile will be stored in a database and be readily available to authorized personnel at all CITGO operational areas.
Who has access to my information?
CITGO prides itself in protecting the confidentiality of your information. Therefore only authorized personnel at all CITGO operational areas are able to access your information should a business opportunity arise.
Why should I register?
Online registration through GEP SMART is essential for new suppliers to be considered for future opportunities. Your company profile will be stored in our database and be readily available by authorized personnel at all CITGO locations. If an opportunity arises, registrations in GEP SMART will be required.
