Caring For Our Coast

In 2014, we introduced our Caring For Our Coast (CFOC) program as a yearlong initiative to support coastal conservation and restoration in remembrance of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Over the past decade, it has grown into a long-term commitment to protecting vulnerable coastal and inland habitats through education, volunteerism, and hands-on restoration projects.

To date, CITGO has invested $7 million in the program, resulting in:

STEM Talent Pipeline

We launched our STEM Talent Pipeline in 2016 to expand access to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education and help build a stronger, more diverse workforce.

Through grants and scholarships, we support schools and programs throughout our operational areas that spark student interest, boost graduation rates, and prepare future professionals for technical and university-level STEM careers.

MDA

Since 1986, we’ve supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and its mission to improve the lives of individuals living with neuromuscular diseases.

Together with our employees, contractors, marketers, retailers, family, and friends, we’ve raised more than $290 million through fundraising events like golf and bowling tournaments, walk-a-thons, shamrock sales, and auctions.

Bess the Book Bus

We support literacy and inspire a love of reading in young children through our partnership with Jennifer Frances and Bess the Book Bus. Since 2010, we’ve helped bring free books to children across the country, breaking down barriers to education for families of all income levels.

Each year, with our support, Bess the Book Bus:

Serves more than 25,000 children
Visits dozens of states
